Local teams hit the streets at Hoopfest

The 24th annual Spokane Hoopfest tournament held on June 28-30 hosted a total of 7,070 teams and spanned 42 city blocks in downtown Spokane. A total of 17 local teams participated.

One local team, Show Me Your Tweets, earned championship honors in the high school male division winning Bracket 260. Team members are Dylan Hartz, Colby Starring, Connor O’Neill and Bridger Smith.

Earning second place in the adult female division, Bracket 315, is the Wucky Ones, which included members Elizabeth Biermann, Laura Olsen, Kari Darnell and Ashley Jones.

Placing fourth in the youth co-ed bracket was the Trouble Makers, which included members Lacey Miller, Bryce Hansen, Lakai Panter and Bryce Kelly.

Additionally, three local teams won the consolation bracket of their divisions and were awarded 13th place awards. In the high school co-ed division, Bracket 179, the Quack Pack won with team members Tessa Jantz, Felicia Ziemer, Camden Smith and Mason Brausen. For the high school co-ed division, Bracket 187, Daddy’s Defects included players Cort Ruzicka, Brian Campbell, Kori Goodwin and Rachel Robinson. Playing in the high school female division, Bracket 198, Angels with Attitudes included members Erica Leffel, Kaysa Panke, Nicole Coppersmith and Jane Andison.

Three Men and a Huey – Shane Olson, Colby Olson, Gavin Heider and Jason Heider.
