Dolores Lucille Spesock died on Monday, June 24, at the Life Care Center of Ritzville.
She was born in 1918 to Roy and Ina (Smithson) Reitenour in Ridgeville, Indiana.
Her family lived in Indiana until she was 12 years old, when they moved to Washington state. The family drove to Washington in an old truck and ended up in Yakima.
She attended Yakima High School where she graduated in 1936. She met and married Ernie Crossler and they had three children; Gerald Roy, Sandra Lee and Judith (Judy) Ann.
She, Ernie and daughter Judy moved to Ritzville in 1963 to purchase the Whisperin’ Palms restaurant. She worked there until she was diagnosed with colon cancer in the early 1990s. After surviving her battle with cancer she retired and finally had time to attend to her garden, flowers and grandchildren. She loved to travel and took many trips with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie; parents, Roy and Ina; two siblings; and a granddaughter.
She is survived by her three children, Gerald, Sandra and Judy; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, at 11 a.m. at the Ritzville Foursquare Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ritzville Food Pantry or the Gritman Senior Center. Danekas Funeral Home of Ritzville is entrusted with the arrangements.
