May 7, 1:00 p.m. – Chief Dave McCormick responded to an agency assist call at East Adams Rural Hospital. Complainant requested assistance obtaining witness statements.
May 7, 10:35 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a trespassing call on South Palouse Street. Complainant advised of a male subject that has been harassing the well drillers and has been inside the fenced off area several times. The complainant stated they spoke to the subject and advised them to stay out of the fenced area. Chief McCormick advised if the subject returned to the clearly fenced off area where the well is being drilled they are trespassing and should be arrested and charged appropriately.
May 7, 9:42 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a suspicious person call in the 800 block of West First Avenue at Evergreen Implement. The complainant advised of a male subject in an orange shirt and camo pants harassing customers and threatening the complainant. The complainant further stated the subject demanded to collect the $5,000 he was owed by the company and threatened to sue if payment was not received. The complainant thought the subject was unstable and might hurt someone so they called for the police. The subject left the store heading east on Second. Chief McCormick was familiar with the subject from a prior call but was unable to locate him.
May 7, 9:15 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a suspicious person call on North Adams Street. Complainant advised of a suspicious male in an orange shirt and camo pants talking to himself. Chief McCormick notified Adams County Mental Health (ACMH) to interview the complainant to determine if there is enough information for a pick up order.
May 7, 9:07 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a threatening individual in the 200 block of East Birch Avenue. Complainant advised of a male subject wearing an orange shirt and camo pants threatening to fight people. Complainant further advised the subject left walking towards Chelan and Birch. Chief McCormick took statements from several subjects in the area. The case was referred to ACMH.
May 7, 8:00 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a suspicious person call in the 400 block of East Sixth Avenue at the grade school. Complainant advised of a white male approximately six foot tall wearing an orange shirt and camouflage pants, just standing there, making the school staff nervous. Chief McCormick contacted the complainant who advised the subject greeted a teacher and was acting strangely. Chief McCormick contacted the subject and warned them about being near school property unless there’s a valid reason. Subject advised they understood.
May 7, 8:00 a.m. –
Dispatch advised of a suspicious male in the 200 block of East Fourth Avenue talking to himself. ACMH was notified to handle the matter.
May 7, 1:31 p.m. – While on patrol, Sergeant Mark Cameron came across a vehicle that appeared to have had a soda thrown on it in the 100 block of East Sixth Avenue. Sgt. Cameron observed a Styrofoam cup on the ground next to the vehicle. Sgt. Cameron contacted the vehicle owner and advised them of the situation.
May 7, 1 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to an agency assist call by Adams County Sheriff Deputy Aaron Madison to watch the northbound 395 exit for a small car suspect in a shots fired call in Lind. While en route, Dep. Madison advised Sgt. Cameron to disregard the call.
May 7, 12:52 a.m. – While on patrol, Sergeant Cameron located an unattended green BMX style bike on East Cherry Avenue at the little league park. Sgt. Cameron transported the bike to the station for safekeeping.
May 7, 12:07 a.m. –
Dispatch advised of a suspicious subject walking on Main Avenue from Adams. The subject is wearing camouflage and sunglasses. Sergeant Cameron located the subject and observed the subject doing nothing wrong. Sgt. Cameron contacted the subject and asked if they needed any assistance. The subject said no and Sgt. Cameron cleared.
May 5, 9:55 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a malicious mischief call in the 1000 block of South Jackson Street. Complainant advised someone threw a McDonald’s soda at the house and it’s all over the window. Complainant further stated there is lotion all over the door. Sgt. Cameron contacted the complainant who gave the description of two suspicious vehicles in the area they believe had done it. Sgt. Cameron contacted the manager at McDonald’s to determine which of the described vehicles had been in that night and they both had. Sgt. Cameron advised the complainant of his findings and advised them to call back if they hear or see anything again.
May 5, 8:53 p.m. – Dispatch advised of a male subject with golf clubs in the 400 block of West Third Avenue who threw a wallet and lighter into the complainants yard. Sergeant Cameron responded and contacted the subject with the assistance of WSP Trooper Tyler Fryberger and Deputy Aaron Madison. The subject was advised he wasn’t acting normal and that if he broke any laws he would be arrested and booked into jail. The subject advised he understood and departed.
May 5, 8:33 p.m. – Dispatch advised of a subject walking toward Harvest Foods from Division swinging golf clubs, causing a traffic hazard. Sergeant Cameron responded with the assistance of Deputy Madison and Trooper Fryberger. The subject was contacted in the parking lot of Harvest Foods and denied being in traffic. When asked about the golf clubs, the subject said they belonged to a friend and he was using them. Sgt. Cameron advised the subject to go to a golf course during normal hours. The subject advised he was going to a friend’s house to hunt small game. When asked if he had a hunting permit the subject stated he had an old one but didn’t need a new one as he was disabled. Sgt. Cameron advised the subject if he is caught hunting without a permit he could face jail time and/or fines. The subject advised he would go to a friend’s house and not bother anyone else.
May 5, 5:47 p.m. – Officer Hunter Klewin responded to the 400 block of West Third Avenue. Complainant advised of a white mustang with a male driver and several passengers traveling on Jackson Street at a high rate of speed. Officer Klewin checked the area and did not locate the described vehicle.
May 5, 5:40 p.m. –
Dispatch advised of a suspicious male in the 400 block of West Tenth Avenue, possibly intoxicated and carrying golf clubs. Officer Klewin observed the subject walking on the side of the road and told him to wait to be contacted. While waiting, the subject began doing sit ups and talking to himself. Upon contact with the subject, Officer Klewin determined the subject had a Montana identification card. Officer Klewin warned the subject not to cause problems and cleared.
May 5, 3:48 p.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a possible medical call in the 100 block of West Galbreath Way at Starbucks. Complainant advised of an older gentleman who claims he stepped out of his vehicle while in the drive-thru and twisted his ankle, hearing a snap. Complainant advised the subject stated they did not need an ambulance but is now taking pictures of the drive-thru area and becoming agitated toward the staff. Complainant requested ambulance and officer assistance with the subject. Officer Klewin stood by while the EMTs attended to the subject.
May 4, 9:51 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron and Chief McCormick responded to a suspicious circumstance in the 1500 block of Smitty’s Boulevard at Cedars Inn. Complainant advised of two male subjects and one female subject in a possible domestic, the female is screaming and running toward the freeway. Due to the number of subjects involved Trooper Fryberger was requested to assist. Upon arrival, Sgt. Cameron observed the female laying face up on the floorboard of the driver’s side of a vehicle and she was crying while a male subject stood outside the vehicle. Upon contact the couple advised while they were eating dinner their five-foot python escaped it’s carrier and they discovered it had climbed under the dashboard to find warmth. Both subjects were visibly upset and thought they wouldn’t be able to free the python before it perishes in the cold temperatures. Officer’s provided flashlights while the subjects tried to free the python.
May 3, 9:20 p.m. – Dispatch advised of a missing child in the 600 block of West Main Avenue. Officer Tom Gracie responded and prior to his arrival, dispatch advised the child had been located.
May 3, 6:19 p.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a possible traffic offense on North Division Street and East Alder Avenue. Complainant advised of a possible DUI. There is a blue car with Washington plates, driven by a female with a child in the back seat, who is driving with extreme lane travel and last seen pulling into the Sheriff’s office parking lot. Chief McCormick contacted the subject in the parking lot and cited the driver for having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Per the subject’s request, she was transported to the hospital for treatment.
May 2, 9:44 p.m. –
Dispatch advised of a possible harassment complaint in the 400 block of West Broadway Avenue. Dispatch further advised the complaint is related to an earlier incident at the same location. Officer Gracie contacted the complainant who stated a female subject had made threats to the complainant upon returning to the residence. Officer Gracie contacted the subject and advised them not to make threats to the complainant or they would be arrested for harassment.
May 2, 1:56 p.m. –
Dispatch advised of a complainant requested contact in reference to continual harassment by their neighbors in the 200 block of East First Avenue at the Top Hat Motel. Chief McCormick called the complainant who advised of a female and two male subjects harassing the complainant while working in the yard. The complainant stated they are tired of being harassed by these subjects and would pursue getting a restraining order against them. The complainant did not want the subjects contacted, just a report of the incident.
May 2, 11:00 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to an agency assist call in the 300 block of East Fourth Avenue. Washington State CPS requested officer assistance with an interview. Chief McCormick assisted as needed.
May 1, 5:28 p.m. –
Dispatch advised of a panhandler in the 100 block of West Galbreath Way. Officer Gracie contacted the subject who stated they were attempting to raise gas money to go to Montana. Officer Gracie advised the subject to move along after the day.
May 1, 2:01 p.m. – Dispatch advised of an animal complainant in the 100 block of West Birch Avenue. Complainant stated there was a dog in the yard with a leash attached to its collar. Officer Gracie responded and prior to his arrival, the dog’s owner arrived and retrieved the dog.
May 1, 12:15 p.m. –
Dispatch advised of a complainant at the Sheriff’s Office requesting contact. Chief McCormick contacted the complainant who advised they were missing $680 from the night before. The complainant stated they drank too much and cannot remember what happened. The complainant further stated they thought they met up with a female subject who should have the complainant’s missing cell phone, coat and money. Chief McCormick advised the complainant they had been transported to Ritzville from Templin’s by a deputy and had no money then. The deputy secured a room voucher for the complainant since they had no money. Chief McCormick contacted the female subject, who was arrested, and advised she had met with the complainant. The complainant located their belongings in the vehicle that was impounded.
April 30, 11:17 p.m. –
While on patrol, Officer Klewin contacted a female subject for a possible DUI in the 100 block of West First Avenue. Deborah A. Stenzel was arrested for DUI and resisting arrest.
April 30, 10:16 p.m. –
While on patrol, Officer Klewin observed a female subject back into a parked vehicle in the 100 block of West First Avenue. The subject caused damage to the parked vehicle and left at a high rate of speed on First Avenue. Upon contact, Officer Klewin arrested Jennifer C. Thorp for Trespassing in the second degree and obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer.
