Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
The LRS track and field team brought home a variety of medals at the 2B State Championship track meet last weekend.
Ryan Whitmore dominated the hurdles races for the team, taking home a third place medal in the 110-meter high hurdles and a sixth place finish in the 300-meter hurdles.
The girls’ 4x100 and 4x200-meter relay teams both medaled in the finals of the races.
Relay team members competing at the state level are Kate Schell, Maya Wahl, Holly Nygren and Caitlin Schoessler.
Schell also competed individually in the 100 and 200-meter sprints, but did not qualify for the finals contest.
Heidi Hennings contended in the pole vault competition but did not clear opening height to qualify for the finals.
Hugh Hennings took 15th place in the men’s shot put competition at the state track meet.
