Memorial Day services slated

Memorial Day services have been planned at the Ritzville Memorial Cemetery and the Washtucna Pioneer Memorial Cemetery on Monday, May 27. On May 24 at 5:30 p.m., the Ritzville VFW post is setting flags up at the cemetery, which will be taken down the evening of May 27. Volunteers willing to help are welcome at both times.

In Washtucna, the memorial service begins at 10 a.m. with a prayer, readings and an opportunity for residents to remember and honor veterans, as well as the playing of taps.

The Ritzville memorial service begins at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Bill Cox officiating. Mayor Linda Kadlec will speak at the ceremony and the local Color Guard will present the colors while displaying their new attire.
