Junior Angus Field Day activities slated

Over 30 exhibitors are expected for the annual Washington Junior Angus Association’s Field Day on May 17-18 at the Wheat Land Communities’ Fairgrounds. Activities begin Friday evening with a full schedule planned for Saturday.

Saturday’s events begin at 8 a.m. with the Queen Contest, followed by the state association meeting where new officers will be elected. The Livestock Show is slated to begin at 10 a.m. with the following classes: steers, cow/calf pairs, bulls, bred and owned heifers, owned heifers, and showmanship.

In conjunction with the Washington Junior Angus Field Day, the first annual Wheatland Jackpot Show will be held on Saturday, May 18, on the Wheat Land Communities’ Fairgrounds in Ritzville. The Jackpot Show is open to all youth showmen with prospect steers. Exhibitors from across Eastern Washington are participating. All breeds are eligible for the Jackpot Show and area youth are encouraged to participate.

Monetary prizes will be awarded to at least the top three individuals with additional awards dependent on participation. The entry fee is $25 and registration forms may be requested by calling Andy Williams at 650-7275, Lori Williams at 650-7018 or emailing [email protected].
