Millard R. “Bob” Bowman died at the age of 86 on April 22 at The Life Care Center in Ritzville.
He was born on Feb. 21, 1927, to Millard and Neva Bowman. He resided in southern California during his youth and served in the Navy during WWII.
He married Carol Bourne of Ramona, Calif., in 1956 and had two children.
He moved to Ralston in 1969 to run the Ralston General Store and post office until 1973.
He moved to Ritzville and worked for the Ritzville School District as a school bus driver and a custodian for the high school. He lived in Escondido, Calif., from 1981 to 1993 then moved back to Ritzville until his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Carol E. Bowman of Ritzville; son, Robert (Sandy) Bowman; daughter, Patricia (Terry) Retherford; three grandchildren, Jesse Bowman of Ritzville, Joshua Bowman of Spokane and Cori Retherford of San Diego, Calif .; and two great-grandchildren, Jase and Leland Bowman of Ritzville.
A private service was held on April 26 in Ritzville.
Danekas Funeral Home of Ritzville is entrusted with the arrangements.
