March 27, 12:59 a.m. –
Officer Hunter Klewin responded to an agency assist call on Interstate-90 near milepost 222. While stopping a vehicle, Trooper Dustin Stephan heard a loud bang come from the vehicle. Trooper Stephan waited for Officer Klewin’s arrival before contacting the driver. The noise was determined to be from the vehicle’s exhaust.
March 26, 4:43 p.m. –
Officer Tom Gracie responded to a possible threat in the 500 block of North Columbia Street at the skate park. Officer Gracie contacted the complainant who stated their kids were threatened by a group of teenagers at the skate park. Officer Gracie contacted the parties involved and their parents.
March 26, 4:09 p.m. –
Chief Dave McCormick responded to a possible hazardous condition in the 200 block of West Main Avenue. Complainant stated the buildings are beginning to separate and they are concerned bricks may begin to fall on the street below. Chief McCormick contacted the building owner and the City Clerk requesting a building inspector look at the building for liability concerns.
March 26, 12:26 p.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a possible domestic call in the 500 block of West First Avenue. Upon arrival, Chief McCormick contacted the complainant who advised the domestic was only verbal in order to get a subject to leave the residence. Chief McCormick advised the complainant to call if the subject returns.
March 26, 11:34 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a disorderly conduct call in the 100 block of West Galbreath Way at Bob’s Chevron. Complainant advised of an aggressive panhandler confronting customers. Upon arrival, Chief McCormick contacted the subjects involved. Chief McCormick suggested all subjects involved leave the premises. Chief McCormick stood by until the subjects were on their way.
March 25, 5:22 p.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a possible vehicle prowl in the 400 block of East Wellsandt Avenue at Gilson Gym. Upon arrival, Officer Gracie contacted the complainant who stated a juvenile was observed in the area attempting to gain entry into vehicles in the parking lot. The complainant further stated some students had cell phones taken from the locker room. Officer Gracie requested the complainant provide a list of items missing and victim information. Investigation is ongoing.
March 24, 4:16 p.m. – Sergeant Mark Cameron responded to a lost property call in the 400 block of West Second Avenue. Upon contact, the complainant advised they are missing several items including a white gold diamond ring valued at $1,000, a white gold heart shaped ring valued at $40 and a silver spoon watch valued at $40. The complainant advised the last time they saw the items was at 4 p.m. on Friday and noticed them missing on Sunday morning. Complainant advised they are in the process of moving and believes they may have been misplaced. Sgt. Cameron advised the complainant to call if the items are located.
March 24, 3:22 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a welfare check in the 100 block of West Galbreath Way. WSP dispatch advised of a male subject who had been involved in a collision earlier, refused treatment and is now not feeling well. Sgt. Cameron arrived with Trooper Stephan and contacted the subject who stated they had a headache and was slightly dizzy. The officers explained to the subject the dangers of letting an injury go untreated. The subject stated they were concerned about medical bills since they do not have insurance. The subject stated they would wait to seek medical attention until they got back home. Both units cleared.
March 24, 2:05 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a found property call in the 400 block of East Wellsandt at Gilson Gymnasium. Complainant advised of a wallet found in the weight room. Sgt. Cameron returned the wallet to its owner.
March 23, 4:53 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a suspicious persons call in the 700 block of South Palouse Street at the city park. Dispatch advised a complainant was at the park with their son and a group of teen boys were in the fire pit area talking about guns, and that one of them suggested he had one on him. The complainant left the park. Upon arrival, Sgt. Cameron observed a group of teenagers at the gazebo. As Sgt. Cameron approached the area, two of the teens took off running. Sgt. Cameron observed the teens playing laser tag with a toy gun. Sgt. Cameron contacted the subjects and advised them of the complaint. The subjects stated the toy guns were the topic of their discussion.
March 23, 2:12 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a possible domestic in progress in the 100 block of East Seventh Avenue. Trooper Carmen Harrington was on scene to assist. Sgt. Cameron contacted the complainant and their family who were standing outside the residence. They advised they heard yelling at the neighbor’s residence and when one of them attempted to confront the neighbor they were warned to stay back or the subject would turn a dog loose on them. Sgt. Cameron contacted the subject who denied the statement and advised their dogs aren’t aggressive and would not do anything to harm anyone. Sgt. Cameron re-contacted the complainant and advised them if they hear anything from the neighbor again to call the police first and not engage the neighbor. Both units cleared.
