Is It Really Just a Game?

It sounded like a made-for-TV movie or a crime drama like “Law and Order,” but it was real and it was horrendous. I’m talking about the soccer referee that was punched in the face by a 17-year-old soccer player that had just received a yellow card. A yellow card is a warning for a soccer player. A second card is red and the player is ejected from the game when that happens.

Instead of taking it as the warning it was, the soccer player unloaded a deadly punch on the ref and put him in a coma. The referee died from those injuries over the weekend leaving many to wonder why.
