The Lind Lions Club invites everyone to gather in Lind the second weekend in June for the 26th Annual Combine Demolition Derby, Car Demolition Derby and Lind Chamber Grand Parade. This event takes place June 7-9, beginning with car races Friday evening.
The Kiddie Parade kicks off the day on Saturday, June 8, at 10:45 a.m., followed by the Grand Parade at 11 a.m. This year’s Kiddie Parade theme is “When I Grow Up,” and entrants need to check in with their registration form at Memorial Park at 10 a.m. for judging.
All grand parade entries will be judged beginning at 9 a.m. Entry forms for the Kiddie and Grand Parade can be picked up at Jim’s Empire Market, Town Hall or downloaded from the Lind website at http://www.lindwa.com. Grand parade entries should mail in registrations by Friday, June 7, to Sharon Reeve c/o Lind Chamber Grand Parade, PO Box 561, Lind WA 99341.
Following the Grand Parade the Lind Lions Club hosts the annual barbecue in the City Park beginning at noon. Lions Club members will be serving the popular barbecue sandwiches with potato salad, chips, soda and dessert.
The Saturday afternoon action begins at 2 p.m. at the Lind Lions Arena. Pickup races start the event, highlighted by the world famous Combine Demolition Derby, car derby and grain truck races.
Rounding out the weekend is the Soap Box Car Races on Smart’s Hill on Sunday beginning at 2 p.m.
