Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
Jacob Blankenship will be the guest speaker at the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday, May 5, at the Washtucna Community Church (WCC).
Blankenship is the son of Cathy and Scott Blankenship, a 2011 graduate of Washtucna High School, and currently enrolled in his second year at Eastern Washington University in Cheney.
The WCC is supporting Blankenship on a 10-week Campus Crusade “Tahoe Summer Project” that will train him in the areas of discipleship, mission, witnessing, and evangelism.
Campus Crusade, now known as “Cru,” is a national and international Christian organization developed primarily as a ministry and mission of evangelization, discipleship, and training for college and university students. The Lake Tahoe Summer Project is based on the south shore of Lake Tahoe, in the mountains between California and Nevada. The project will be comprised of approximately 100 students from around the country, as well as 30 staff, predominantly from the Greater Northwest.
During his presentation at Sunday’s service Blankenship will share the development of his relationship with God and this new direction in the sense of God’s calling for his life.
Anyone interested in making a donation to support Blankenship’s project is asked to mail monetary donations to Washtucna Community Church, 125 S. Church St., Washtucna WA 99371. Checks should be made payable to Cru.
Following worship service, refreshments will be served to the fellowship.
