The local U.S. Bank branch is welcoming Kandis Steele to the staff in the previously vacant assistant manager position. Steele began working at the Ritzville branch on Monday, April 8, and recently moved to the Ritzville community from Spokane.
Originally from California, Steele moved to Spokane during her junior year of high school. After graduating from Shadle Park High School, Steele attended Apollo College to study pharmacy.
For the past five years, Steele has been working in the pharmacy at Walgreens, but applied for the assistant manager position so she could move to Ritzville with her five-year-old son, Joey.
Steele is engaged to Dan Duff and the couple is currently preparing for the quickly approaching August wedding. Together the couple has a broad range of family and friends living in and around Ritzville, and Steele was excited to move to the community.
“The hospitality has been great, everybody has been so welcoming,” Steele said of the transition from Spokane to Ritzville.
Steele’s primary position at the local bank branch will revolve around helping customers with loans and assisting bank manager, Brylee Edwards, with other banking needs. Steele has immediately enjoyed working at the local branch because of the customers welcoming her to the community and the upbeat coworkers she has the opportunity to work with.
Steele said she still has a lot of learn about the assistant manager position but believes the support and expertise provided by her coworkers will help her quickly adapt to the new career.
Aside from work, Steele’s main focus now is on planning the fall wedding.
The fall season also brings the start of the school year when Joey will be attending kindergarten at Ritzville Grade School.
