Library to host poetry contest

In honor of national poetry month, the Ritzville Public Library is hosting a youth poetry contest for students in sixth through 12th grade. All entries must be submitted by April 30 and only one entry is allowed per poet.

The rules for the poetry competition are every poem must be an original and submitted by the poet. The poets must be in the age bracket and live within the boundaries of the Ritzville Library District No. 2.

Poems are judged in three categories: sixth and seventh grade, eighth and ninth grade, and 10th through 12th grade.
