Volunteers continue working to improve community

Yet again, I have been amazed by the generosity and ability of our communities to come together to do great things for children.

Led by Tim Smith and Derek Schafer, over 50 volunteers came together on March 9 and 16, and many days after, in order to update the baseball and softball fields at the middle school in Lind.

In addition to the donations of time and labor, there were also monetary donations from the Lind Little League Association, The McGregor Company, Lind Lions Club, NuChem, Schafer Ranch and Coyote Flats Farms.

There was also a considerable amount of equipment donated to this project. Those donating equipment included Tim Smith, Derek Schafer, Roger Smart, Dale Telecky, Gerry Anderson, Josh Knodel, and Lynn Sackmann. Grant Miller donated gravel.

Each Saturday after a hard morning of work there was a great meal provided for the volunteers at the Good Hope Lutheran Church led by the Knodel family, Bev Kulm, and Michelle Smith.

It truly worries me that I may have forgotten a group or individual who I need to thank.

However, the great thing about our communities is that people donate their time and resources because they want to help make our communities better places. My sincere thanks go out to each and every individual who donated time, finances, food, or equipment to improve our facilities for our children.

Once again, the communities of Lind and Ritzville came together to do another great thing! Thank you!

Rob Roettger, Superintendent, Lind-Ritzville
