Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
In association with National Crime Victim Rights Awareness Week, the Region 8 Crime Victim Service Center is hosting a free shred event on April 23 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Sterling Bank parking lot. Residents are encouraged to bring material from home that may need destruction.
Region 8 Crime Victim Service Center serves Adams, Grant and Lincoln counties, and is partnering with the City of Ritzville and DeVries Business Services to provide the service.
Document shredding helps prevent identity theft by destroying all sensitive documents that could be used to steal an individual’s identity. All sensitive documents, including junk mail and paperwork, should be shred, especially documents containing a social security number, signature, account numbers, passwords, birth date and medical information.
Region 8 Crime Advocates will be onsite during the shred event to answer any questions residents may have. For more information on identity theft protection, visit http://ftc.gov/idtheft.
Sterling Bank is located at 108 East First Avenue in Ritzville.
