Semi rolls outside Ritzville

Falling asleep at the wheel proved to be the cause of a semi-truck rollover accident six miles south of Ritzville at 6:52 a.m. on March 22. The Sacramento driver, 34-year-old Fnu Jahanzaib, failed to negotiate a curve, causing the truck to leave the roadway and eventually roll into the median.

Jahanzaib suffered injuries in the accident and was transported by ambulance to East Adams Rural Hospital. The 2009 Wabash tractor and 2008 Volvo trailer were impounded to Pete’s Garage.

The official charge for the accident is wheels off the roadway.
