Eleanore Sackmann

Eleanore (Schauerman) Sackmann died at the age of 89 on Wednesday, March 6, in Yakima, Wash.

She was born Oct. 17, 1923, to Jacob and Katherine Schauerman. She attended Odessa High School, where she excelled in basketball and won the state championship in tennis. She was an avid tennis player throughout her life. She loved singing and was part of a quartet.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in Dec. 2012; her parents, Jacob and Katherine; four brothers, Rueben, Ted, Mel and Art Schauerman; and three sisters, Ester Schmauder, Evelyn Ottmar and Harriet Kaufman.

She is survived by sons, Richard and David Sackmann; daughters, Susan Jonsson and Christine Ehlers; sister, Alma Fulford; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held on March 11 at Terrace Heights Memorial Park in Yakima, Wash. Keith and Keith Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. An online guestbook is available at http://www.keithandkeith.com.
