Walter Bruce Wilsey

Walter Bruce Wilsey died at the age of 84 on Feb. 28.

He was born in Lewiston, Idaho, to Lula Burkett Wilsey and Walter Leo Wilsey on Aug. 24, 1929. He was one of seven children and the family lived in Asotin, Wash. He graduated from Asotin High School in 1947, attended Lewis and Clark College for two years before enlisting in the Air Force, serving for four years.

He resumed his education at Eastern Washington University in Cheney and graduated in 1957, with a bachelor’s degree in education. Upon graduation, he accepted a fifth grade teaching position at Pomeroy.
