Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
Gwendolyn (Waddoups) Ruegsegger died at the age of 83, on Feb. 28 at an adult home care facility in Spokane Valley where she had been living since April 2012.
She was born in Ogden, Utah on Aug. 3, 1929, to Cyrus and Nola Waddoups.
On Aug. 18, 1949, she married Eldon Ruegsegger of Daniels, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1952. They made their home in Dillon, Mont., from 1950, until moving to Ritzville, in 1972 where they farmed until 1986, when they moved to Spokane before settling in the Otis Orchards area.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cyrus and Nola; husband, Eldon, who passed away in 1992 after a long battle with cancer; her sister, Dorcas Butler; an infant daughter Tam; and daughter, Lavina Fanjal.
She is survived by her son, Leland (Jeanie) Ruegsegger of Otis Orchards, Wash .; daughter, Janice (Alex) La Forge of Billings, Mont .; son, Jim (Linda) Ruegsegger of Idaho Falls, Idaho; son, Brian (Debbie) Ruegsegger of Kennewick; son, Todd Ruegsegger of Spokane Valley; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be held on Saturday, March 9, at 10 a.m., viewing begins at 9 a.m., at the Liberty Lake LDS church located at 23515 E. Boone Ave, Liberty Lake, followed by interment at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
