Lillian (Hoffman) Smith, died at the age of 89, on Thursday, Feb. 14.
She was born Dec. 11, 1923, to Henry and Katherine E. (Bier) Hoffman. The youngest of seven children, she lived the majority of her life in Ritzville and attended school there.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a dear friend to many.
She was a talented seamstress and artist. She loved crafts and to bake cookies, which were enjoyed by many.
She loved trips to the ocean and a casino now and then.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Katherine; sisters, Louise Athey, Anna Derr and Laura Martin; brothers, Albert, Carl and Lawrence Hoffman; son, Robert Wells; an infant daughter; son-in-law, Gene Schell; and husband, Wilford Smith.
She is survived by daughter, Laura Schell of Ritzville; grandchildren, Monica (Dale) Tillman of Kennewick, Linda Allen of Ritzville, Peter (Christina) Leno of Wasilla, Alaska, Brook (Micah) Butts and Jack (Heather) Wells of Colville; 15 great grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
At her request, no services are planned. Danekas Funeral Home and Crematory of Ritzville is entrusted with the arrangements.
