Weed board calls for interested volunteers to fill leadership seats

The Adams County Noxious Weed Control Board is accepting applications for board positions in Sections 2, 3, 4 and 5, and the terms are for four years.

The board is a volunteer position in the interest of weed management practices in Adams County.

In Sections 2 and 3, the current terms end in March. Sections 4 and 5 have been vacant for over a year.

The Washington State RCW requires that the board have five members with at least four members engaged in the primary production of agricultural products. All board members must reside in the section they represent and be an Adams County registered voter.

Section 2 is the area of the county located south of I-90, west of Highway 261 and the portion north of the Lind-Warden Road including the Town of Lind and North of Providence Road East of Highway 395.

Section 3 is the area of the county located south of I-90, east of Highway 261 and north of Ralston-Benge and Benge-Winona Roads that includes the Town of Benge.

Section 4 is the area of the county located east of Highway 395, south of Providence Road to Highway 261, east of Highway 261 from Providence Road to Ralston-Benge and Benge-Winona Roads that includes the Town of Washtucna.

Section 5 is the area of the county located west of Highway 395 and south of Lind-Warden Road and south of Lind city limits that includes the towns of Othello, Hatton and Cunningham.
