National deficit remains neglected

Immigration, the deficit, gun control and jobs are definitely the hot topics that will face Congress as we plunge into 2013. We have a democratic senate that has not passed a budget in almost four years and a combined Congress that did less and spent more time in recess than any Congress since the 1940s.

We need to remember that the Senate is required by law to pass a budget each year. The two parties are pointing fingers, but we only need to look at President Obama as he is the primary Senator who eviscerated President Bush’s 2007 attempt at immigration reform. Basic common sense should tell us that if we close the border to future immigration, it would give Congress time to debate what to do with the (who knows) millions.

I hope they are keeping track of the facts that we will need less low-skilled labor because of technology. Without border control, we add more to the governments feeding trough.

The deficit is complex but President Obama still wants to enlarge it. That is really scary as the bumbling Federal Reserve is going to force the rate for borrowing to climb.

Statistics show that gun control that the left wants, is not what the majority of our population wants. Shootings are horrible and tragic but they are miniscule compared to the lives lost to drugs (from traffic accidents to overdosing and over drinking). Please look at the numbers because the left ignores them!

Jobs are a huge problem and they will continue to be, until we change the number of high school graduates to something much better than three out of four.

I know of several people who received valuable work experience by being in the CCC program during the depression. Our once great nation is perilously close to being decimated by poor judgment! Also, being as it is 100 years since the Federal Reserve was started, by handpicking a group of businessmen, wouldn’t it be a logical time to have an audit?
