Lind Fire welcomes new leadership

The Fire Protection District No. 2 is welcoming a new fire chief and two assistants to the helm of the department. The commissioners unanimously approved Kevin Starring to serve as the Lind Fire Department’s chief following the retirement of previous fire chief, Don Klemmer.

Joining Starring in the leadership positions at the department are Mike Doyle and Rubben Labes, both who are serving a one-year trial term as assistant fire chief. Previously, there has only been one assistant chief, but the addition of another assistant is to help support and strengthen the department.
