Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
During a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, Jan. 28, the Adams County Commissioners unanimously agreed to amend the schedule of regular meeting days and adopt new meeting criteria. The new meeting schedule was effective on Feb. 1 and includes changes to dates and locations.
The board of commissioners regularly meets in Ritzville at the Adams County Courthouse and at the County Public Services Building in Othello. During these meetings, the commissioners facilitate conversations regarding budgetary, supervisory processes between departments and staff in the county.
The board first looked at amending the meeting schedule based on the fact of legal holidays creating back-to-back meetings for the board, with few items on the agenda.
The new criteria adopted by the commissioners states a meeting will be held every Monday at the Adams County Courthouse beginning at 8:30 a.m. Meetings will also be held at the courthouse on the first and third Wednesday beginning at 9 a.m. and lasting until noon or until adjournment.
The second and fourth Wednesday of the month, the commissioners will travel to the County Public Services Building in Othello. Meeting times are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at noon or until adjournment.
The exceptions now included with the amended meeting schedule consist of no meetings being held on a Wednesday following a Tuesday meeting that occurred due to a Monday holiday; meetings will not be held on a holiday occurring on Wednesday; meetings are not held on Tuesday before a Wednesday holiday; meetings are not held on Thursday following a Wednesday holiday; and meetings will not be held on Wednesday before a Thursday holiday.
The changes to the schedule rescind two resolutions previously in place: Resolution No. R-39-02 and Resolution No. R-59-06.
