Dorothy B. (Oestreich) Rogel, died at the age of 103, on Thursday, Jan. 24.

She was born on Dec. 25, 1909, to Henry and Katherine Oestreich at the family home in Ritzville, she was the last of five children and was very proud of her German heritage.

She married Victor Rogel on Sept. 9, 1939, sharing 34 wonderful years of marriage.

She lived the majority of her life in Ritzville, moving to the Good Samaritan Village in Spokane in 2007 to be nearer to her family.

She loved music, playing the piano, playing rummy, researching family heritage, reading the Bible, and enjoying the company of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Katherine; brothers and sisters; husband, Victor; and infant son, William George.

She is survived by daughter, Katherine (Bill) DeMaine; grandchildren, Alana (Robert) Kienel and Jessica DeMaine; step grandchildren, Carla Gilbertz, Lori Rayburn, Bill DeMaine III, Timothy DeMaine, Amy Melchisedeck and Betsy Bradley; great-grandchildren, Serena and Evan Kienel, Wyatt Mann and Ryan Keil; 17 step-great-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 7, from 12-5 p.m., and Friday, Feb. 8, from 8-10 a.m. at Danekas Funeral Home, in Ritzville.

The memorial service is to be held on Feb. 8 at 2 p.m., at the Zion Philadelphia United Church of Christ in Ritzville.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Spokane Valley Good Samaritan, 18121 E. 8th Ave., Spokane Valley, WA 99016; or the Zion Philadelphia UCC in Ritzville.
