A handgun and a variety of small items were taken when a thief or thieves entered four unlocked cars earlier this week, as a rash of vehicle prowls continued in the City of Ritzville.
According to Ritzville Police reports, four complaints were received on Monday, Jan. 28, regarding vehicles that were entered sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.
Police Chief David McCormick said the one common denominator is that each vehicle was unlocked.
The incidents occurred in the 200 block of West Second Avenue, 300 block of East Third Avenue, 200 block of East Fourth Avenue and the 200 block of East Birch Avenue.
Among the items taken was a .25 caliber pistol.
