Elma D. Moffat

Elma D. (McRae) Moffat died at the age of 95 on Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Bonney Lake, Wash.

She was born Feb. 21, 1917, to William Alex and Anna Traynor McRae in Lantz, Wash., near Benge. She graduated from Ritzville High School in 1935. In 1940, she married Alex Moffat, and the couple made their home in Seattle.

It is said by friends and family that she was the kindest, most loving mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was much loved by her family and many friends. She was an avid sports fan, particularly the Mariners and Seahawks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex. She was the last survivor of the Marengo McRae clan, also preceding her in death are sisters, Mary McRae, Kate Gibbons, Ann Schoessler, Lucille Gardiner and Bess Timerson; and brothers, Dave, Tom and Bill McRae.

She is survived by sons, David W. (Judy) Moffat, and Donald C. (Jana) Moffat; grandson, Kyle A. Moffat; granddaughter, Jennifer (Rick) Burd; great-grandson, Luke Burd; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

A celebration of life is to be held Memorial Day weekend during a family reunion. Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home and Crematory in Seattle is entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences may be left at the online guestbook at http://www.washelli.com.
