Mary Lois Tyson

Mary Lois (McCann) Tyson died at the age of 83, on Saturday, Jan. 5, in Cheney.

A long time resident of Ritzville, she was born in Elmira, N.Y., on Aug. 1, 1929, the first child of Francis and Ruth McCann.

She played first base for the Cayuga Heights Allstars, a boys’ team aside from her. Latin was her best subject in school, evident when she played Scrabble. Her favorite golf club was a two iron, rare these days, as they require much skill. Other of her favorites included FDR, Frank Sinatra, a 1966 Mustang 289 automatic and sport, a remarkable creature.
