It has been another successful year for some teams that came out of nowhere to go to a bowl game. Since there are like 36 bowls, and all you need is a 6-6 record, a lot of teams that start out hot and finish cold, still get that all important bowl bid.
I remember back in the day when some schools would turn down a bowl bid, because they felt their team wasn’t worthy, because they lost two or three games to end a season. Since so much money is being paid out to schools and league affiliations, those days are long gone.
