Hunter Education

The Ritzville Gun Club will be hosting a Hunter Education class, beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 6 p.m. The class covers all the required material to qualify to buy a Washington state hunting license.

Topics include: firearm safety, firearm handling, archery, muzzle loading, conservation, wildlife identification and wildlife laws.

The class is a traditional classroom course consisting of five evening classes, and a Saturday field skills evaluation on Feb. 16 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

There is no cost associated with the course, and Pheasants Forever sponsors the range day activities. There is not a minimum age requirement, but the student must complete reading and writing tests. Students under the age of 12 must have a parent present during the entire class.
