Dec. 19, 11:21 a.m. –
Chief Dave McCormick responded to a suspicious circumstance in the 100 block of West Birch Avenue. Complainant advised of subjects in a green Chevrolet SUV going through a neighbor’s vehicle. Chief McCormick contacted the complainant and the subject who was repossessing the vehicle. Chief McCormick cleared without incident.
Dec. 18, 9:28 a.m. –
Chief McCormick responded to a citizen assist in the 100 block of East Main Avenue at the US Bank. Complainant advised a customer is trying to get money from Western Union but does not understand valid identification rules. Chief McCormick contacted the subject and explained the situation.
Dec. 18, 7:35 a.m. –
Chief McCormick responded to a possible burglary in the 500 block of West First Avenue at the Colwell Motor Inn. Complainant advised of a subject staying there, that returned to their room to discover it had been broken into. The manager is reviewing the video surveillance and the investigation is pending.
Dec. 17, 9:38 p.m. –
While on patrol Sergeant Mark Cameron located a traffic hazard on North Division Street and East Broadway Avenue. Sgt. Cameron located a load of laundry in the southbound lane on Division. Sgt. Cameron cleared the debris and placed it on the roadside in case the owner needs to claim it.
Dec. 17, 1:36 p.m. –
Officer Tom Gracie responded to a possible theft in the 200 block of North Washington Street at the Post Office. Upon contact a postal employee advised Officer Gracie that residential garbage was being placed in the post office’s dumpster. The owner of the garbage was contacted and advised not to use the dumpster.
Dec. 17, 1:08 p.m. –
Officer Gracie responded to a welfare check request in the 100 block of East Sixth Avenue. The complainant advised they had not been able to get a hold of their grandmother and requested Officer Gracie to check on her. Officer Gracie made contact with the grandmother and thanked the officer for the concern. Officer Gracie notified the complainant of the findings.
Dec. 17, 12:00 p.m. –
Officer Gracie responded to a residential burglary alarm in the 400 block of East Alder Avenue. Upon arrival Officer Gracie found the residence to be secure. Officer Gracie notified dispatch and requested they contact the homeowner.
Dec. 17, 10:48 a.m. –
Officer Gracie responded to a possible traffic hazard in the 200 block of East Sixth Avenue. Dispatch advised of an orange caution sign lying in the roadway. Officer Gracie arrived at the scene and found the company that owned it had retrieved the sign.
Dec. 16, 10:32 p.m. –
Sergeant Cameron responded to an agency assist call in the 100 block of West Galbreath Way at the Circle K. Complainant advised of four children that were taken to the Circle K by the Washington State Patrol due to the parent being stuck in the snow on Interstate 90. Sgt. Cameron attempted contact but the children were gone.
Dec. 16, 8:59 p.m. –
While on patrol Sergeant Cameron came across a semi truck that was stuck on Weber Avenue and South Bauman Street. Upon contact the driver advised Sgt. Cameron that they could not get traction due to the weather conditions. Sgt. Cameron controlled traffic while the truck driver got moving again and cleared.
Dec. 16, 9:30 a.m. –
Officer Hunter Klewin responded to a suspicious circumstance in the 100 block of East Third Avenue. Complainant advised a gas cap is on the ground near their vehicle and the door to the fuel input is open. Complainant further advised there are footprints and they will be tracking them.
Dec. 15, 10:45 p.m. – Officer Klewin responded to an agency assist call in the 200 block of East Broadway Avenue at the Adams County Jail. Dispatch advised the jail requested assistance while booking a subject. Dispatch further advised it was non-emergency and the jailer requested additional officers as back up. The subject was booked without incident and Officer Klewin cleared.
Dec. 15, 7:51 p.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a disorderly conduct call in the 900 block of South Adams Street at East Adams Rural Hospital. Complainant advised of a male subject that made verbal and physical threats to the nurse and then bolted off the exam table and exited the building. Officer Klewin contacted the subjects and arrested Daniel T. Crofton for harassment and resisting arrest; and Tawnia M. Freier was arrested for obstruction.
Dec. 15, 8:56 a.m. –
Officer Gracie responded to a possible nuisance call in the 300 block of West Main Avenue. Dispatch advised of intoxicated subjects in the area. Officer Gracie conducted a sweep of the area but was unable to locate anyone.
Dec. 14, 10:10 p.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a warrant service in the 500 block of West First Avenue at the Colwell Motor Inn. Officer Klewin arrested John Tryon for an Adams County warrant.
Dec. 14, 3:46 a.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a possible harassment call in the 100 block of West Galbreath Way at the Circle K. Complainant advised an intoxicated male subject is trying to get into their car and won’t leave. Officer Klewin arrived and arrested an unidentified male subject for minor in possession/consumption of alcohol.
Dec. 13, 3:08 p.m. –
Officer Gracie responded to an agency assist call on South Jefferson Street at Pete’s Garage. WSP Trooper Dustin Stephan requested assistance serving a search warrant on an impounded vehicle. Officer Gracie contacted Trooper Stephan and assisted as needed.
Dec. 12, 11:54 p.m. –
Sergeant Cameron responded to a possible threat in the 100 block of West Main Avenue at the Pastime. Complainant advised of a possible altercation between two male subjects. Sgt. Cameron responded and conducted a bar check. Sgt. Cameron located two male subjects that were rather heated so Sgt. Cameron separated the two subjects. The complainant advised one subject made a threat to the complainant. The subject denied the statement.
Dec. 12, 11:26 p.m. – While on patrol Sergeant Cameron was conducting a bar check and noticed a male subject in violation of a court order. Sgt. Cameron generated a report on the subject and forwarded it to the Prosecutors office.
Dec. 12, 6:00 p.m. –
Chief McCormick responded to a suspicious call in the 100 block of East Sixth Avenue. Complainant advised of water being taken from the residence. Chief McCormick arrived and conducted a search of the area and did not find any footprints or water running from the faucet. Chief McCormick advised the complainant of his findings.
Dec. 12, 1:10 p.m. –
Chief McCormick responded to a possible traffic hazard in the 500 block of South Jackson Street. Complainant advised of a speeding vehicle in the area. Chief McCormick checked the area and was unable to locate the described vehicle.
Dec. 12, 11:36 a.m. –
Chief McCormick responded to a possible fraud situation in the 200 block of South Chelan Street. Upon contact the complainant advised Chief McCormick of several phone calls they have received regarding a lottery they had won. The complainant further advised they believe it to be a scam and they wanted the police department to know of the situation.
Dec. 11, 8:41 p.m. –
Officer Gracie responded to a citizen assist call in the 100 block of West Galbreath Way at the Best Western. Dispatch advised of a subject requesting a ride to the sheriff’s department. Officer Gracie transported the subject and cleared.
Dec. 11, 6:06 p.m. –
Officer Gracie responded to a citizen assist call in the 100 block of East Sixth Avenue. Dispatch advised of a medical call. Officer Gracie arrived and assisted the ambulance crew as needed.
Dec. 11, 3:19 p.m. –
Officer Gracie responded to a parking issue in the 100 block of West Sixth Avenue. Complainant advised of a vehicle that had been parked there for over a month and the registration is expired. Officer Gracie located the vehicle and contacted the vehicle’s owner. Officer Gracie advised the owner to remove the vehicle or get it registered.
Dec. 11, 1:00 p.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a welfare check call in the 200 block of West Second Avenue. Complainant requested assistance in contacting their adult son that lived at the residence. Officer Gracie and Chief McCormick responded to the residence and advised the subject of the situation.
Dec. 11, 11:19 a.m. – Complainant came into the sheriff’s office and advised of three male subjects in a gold vehicle that were stopped with binoculars on West Broadway Avenue and North Adams Street. Chief McCormick responded and searched the area and was unable to locate any persons or vehicles matching the complainants’ description.
Dec. 11, 10:05 a.m. –
Chief McCormick responded to a citizen assist call in the 100 block of West Galbreath Way at Circle K. Complainant advised they are trespassed from the property and need assistance retrieving their paycheck. Chief McCormick contacted the store manager who advised the checks are no longer mailed to the store.
Dec. 11, 8:51 a.m. –
Chief McCormick responded to a possible threat in the 500 block of West Broadway Avenue. Chief McCormick contacted the complainant who advised of a male subject that walks past their house every morning and threatens the complainants’ dog and uses foul language. Chief McCormick contacted the subject who admitted to the complaint and advised that they would apologize to the complainant next time.
Dec. 10, 9:26 p.m. –
Sergeant Cameron responded to a possible trespassing call in the 500 block of West First Avenue at the Colwell Motor Inn. Sgt. Cameron contacted the manager and assistant manger who advised they served a male subject with an eviction notice and the subject refuses to leave. Sgt. Cameron asked if they went through the courts to evict the tenant and they said no. Sgt. Cameron advised this was a civil issue and they needed to contact the court to legally evict the subject.
Dec. 10, 2:01 p.m. –
Officer Gracie responded to a suspicious call in the 500 block of East First Avenue. Officer Gracie contacted the complainant who advised that while they were cleaning around the residence they found drug paraphernalia and a M-800. The complainant showed Officer Gracie what they had found. Officer Gracie took custody of the M-800 and transported it to the police department for destruction.
