Miller, Wahl to lead local school boards

The Lind and Ritzville school boards elected new leadership for each board during the combined school board meeting on Thursday, Dec. 20.

For the Ritzville School Board, Marci Miller was reelected to serve as the board chairman, while Layne Iltz was voted in as vice chairman, a position previously held by Chris Cook. Iltz will also serve as the WIAA and REA representative.

Newly elected director Greg Galbreath was elected to serve as a co-representative for the REA with Iltz. Cook will serve as the PSE representative, while Scott Carruth will continue as the legislative representative for the Ritzville School Board.

The Lind School Board unanimously approved to elect Rena Wahl as the chairman, a position previously held by Bev Kulm. Kulm will now serve as the vice chairman for the board.

Continuing as the WIAA representative is Annie Trunkle-Smart, and Jennifer Anderson will continue to serve as the legislative representative for the Lind School Board.

Both boards agree to have the Ritzville Adams County Journal continue to serve as the district’s official media.

The Lind and Ritzville School Boards meet on the third Monday of every month at 6 p.m. in rotating locations.

The January and February meeting dates have been postponed a week, due to holidays. The next board meeting will be in Lind on Jan. 28.
