Lady Tigercats prepare for tournament

The Lady Tigercats continue to try to earn a win during the season, and struggled during back-to-back games last weekend.

The Lady Tigercats faced Rosalia in league play, falling to the Lady Spartans with a final score of 9-56.

The first quarter proved to be the highest scoring quarter for the Lady Tigercats when Lindsey Miller and LeAnne Blauert both drained two-point shots for the team.

The remaining five points over the course of the next three quarters would be earned off of free throw shots.

Blauert led the team with four points and Miller contributed three points to the final score. Kadie Whinery and Chelsie Kneale each scored one point for the Lady Tigercats.

The Lady Tigercats, already short in numbers, were without a few key players who missed the two games due to family vacations.

The Lady Tigercats had eight athletes during the games, and are expected to be short in numbers at the upcoming tournament.

The team continued on to face Tri-Cities Prep in a non-league game for the second time this season. The Lady Tigercats fell with a score of 37-63 during the Saturday night game.

TCP earned the early lead by scoring 16 points in the first quarter and 23 in the second, while the Lady Tigercats only earned a total of 10 points in the first half. The second half proved successful for the team as they matched the scoring on TCP.

Blauert again led the team in scoring with 11 points, while Ashtyn Aune stepped up to make nine points during the game.

Whinery had eight points, Miller had five, and Breaze Wolfe and Brittany Gordon each earned two points.

The Lady Tigercats scored 27 points during the second half, being led by Blauert and Whinery in second half scoring.

The team continued to be successful shooting free throws, earning seven points from the foul line.

The Lady Tigercats continue on to the Dayton Tournament on Thursday, Dec. 27, to continue to battle for the first win of the season.

Game time for the Lady Tigercats is at 6 p.m. on Thursday, with the Friday game time to still be announced.
