The Ritzville Girl Scout Troop No. 1310 is set to host a community snowflake making party on Thursday, Jan. 3, at 6 p.m., in the Ritzville Grade School cafeteria.
The troop decided to host the event after staff at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., announced they were seeking help to make the school feel welcoming to the returning students, after the tragedy that occurred at the school on Friday, Dec. 14.
The staff has asked for snowflake donations to make a “winter wonderland” for the children.
The Girl Scouts are providing all snowflake making materials. Everyone is welcome to attend the event, make a snowflake and help to show community support for the children, families, teachers and community of Newton.
For questions about this event contact troop leader, Jessika Wolf at 509-347-6276.
