Ritzville Police Report

Nov. 14, 11:50 a.m. – Chief Dave McCormick responded to a possible traffic hazard in the 100 block of East Galbreath Way at the Circle K. Upon arrival Chief McCormick contacted a subject flagging traffic for tree service trucks along Weber Avenue. The subject advised of a semi truck driver that blew through the flags. Chief McCormick contacted the semi truck driver who advised they saw the flagger and turned safely.

Nov. 13, 3:15 p.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a citizen assist in the 300 block of East Broadway Avenue. Complainant requested standby while they retrieved some of their belongings from the residence.

Nov. 13, 1:51 p.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a citizen assist in the 200 block of East Broadway Avenue. Complainant requested standby while they retrieved some of their belongings from the residence.

Nov. 13, 1:29 p.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a possible suicide attempt in the 300 block of East Fourth Avenue. Chief McCormick contacted the complainant and subject involved and escorted them to East Adams Rural Hospital for further assistance.

Nov. 13, 9:05 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the 100 block of West Galbreath Way at the McDonalds. Complainant advised of a black vehicle that had been parked there for five days. Chief McCormick advised the complainant the vehicle is on private property and they need to attempt contact with the owner to remove the vehicle. Chief McCormick advised the complainant to obtain proper signs required for the property from a registered tow operator.

Nov. 11, 10:59 p.m. – Sergeant Mark Cameron responded to an agency assist call in the 200 block of West Third Avenue. Dispatch advised of a 72-year-old male subject that was dizzy after a shower and in the bathroom. Upon arrival the ambulance crew had three people so Sgt. Cameron cleared.

Nov. 11, 9:59 p.m. – Sgt. Cameron responded to an agency assist call on eastbound I90 near milepost 220. Trooper Dustin Stephan requested assistance for officer safety while he searched a vehicle occupied by five subjects. Sgt. Cameron stood by while Trooper Stephan conducted the search.

Nov. 11, 10:04 a.m. – Officer Hunter Klewin contacted a complainant at the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. Complainant advised their ex did not show up for the child exchange they had agreed on. The parenting plan showed the complainant was to have the children for the Veterans Day holiday. The complainant requested the incident be documented.

Nov. 11, 9:00 a.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a citizen assist call in the 300 block of West Main Avenue. Complainant requested assistance with moving luggage items out of the house.

Nov. 10, 4:52 p.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a possible theft in the 300 block of West Main Avenue. Complainant advised of jewelry stolen from their residence. Officer Klewin filed the report.

Nov. 10, 9:57 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a suspicious person call in the 300 block of South Cascade Street. Complainant advised of a male subject going door-to-door selling carpet cleaning products. Chief McCormick located the subject who advised he was selling Kirby products. Chief McCormick informed the subject that he needed a permit issued by the City Clerk to sell door-to-door. Another male subject from Kirby arrived and asked what the penalty was if they continued selling door-to-door. Chief McCormick explained they could not continue without the proper license. The two subjects finished their obligations and advised Chief McCormick that they would work on obtaining the proper permits.

Nov. 9, 11:48 p.m. – Officer Klewin responded to an agency assist call on eastbound I90 near milepost 220. Trooper Stephan requested a unit for officer safety during a traffic stop. Officer Klewin assisted and cleared the scene.

Nov. 9, 9:26 p.m. – Officer Klewin responded to an agency assist call in the 300 block of East Second Avenue. Child Protection Services requested officer stand by during a home visit.

Nov. 9, 5:28 p.m. – Officer Tom Gracie responded to a disorderly conduct call in the 300 block of West Broadway Avenue. Complainant advised that their ex was pounding on the back door. Officer Gracie arrived and contacted the subject. Officer Gracie advised the intoxicated subject to not return to the residence without police escort or they would be subject to an arrest for trespassing. The subject advised they understood and went home.

Nov. 9, 2:34 p.m. – Chief McCormick and Officer Gracie responded to a suspicious circumstance in the 200 block of East Broadway Avenue. Complainant advised of a male subject that was bleeding from their hand before entering a residence. Upon contact with the subject the officers advised the subject that he should be transported to the hospital for stitches. The subject agreed to be transported to the hospital. Chief McCormick stood by while the subject received stitches, transported the subject home and then cleared.

Nov. 9, 10:33 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a citizen assist call in the 600 block of West First Avenue at Harvest Foods. Complainant requested assistance in contacting three subjects regarding overdue movie rentals. Chief McCormick advised he would attempt to contact the subjects.

Nov. 8, 3:06 p.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a suspicious circumstance in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street. Dispatch advised of an unsecured residence. Officer Gracie arrived and found the front door open. The residence is currently vacant. Officer Gracie searched the residence and found nothing. Officer Gracie secured the premises and notified the realtor.

Nov. 8, 11:52 a.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a suspicious person call in the 100 block of West Main Avenue at the Purple Store. Complainant advised of a suspicious male subject photographing the business, their house and their son’s car. Officer Gracie advised he would contact the subject about the issue.
