Broncos to receive police escort out of town

The LRS Broncos football team will be escorted through the city by police and fire crews on Thursday morning as they head to Tacoma for the state championship football game.

Around 9 a.m., law enforcement and the Ritzville Fire Department will lead the team bus from the Gilson Gymnasium on to Wellsandt, down Chelan Street and then onto First Avenue. The group will turn on Columbia Street and then turn left onto Broadway Avenue.

The procession will follow the traditional parade route, passing in front of the courthouse and then traveling through the historic downtown business district along Main Avenue. From there, the procession will head out First Avenue to Interstate 90.

Football fans are encouraged to step out and wave and cheer as the bus travels through Ritzville.
