Nov. 8, 11:47 a.m. – Officer Tom Gracie responded to a suspicious person call in the 1000 block of Pine Avenue. Complainant advised of a male subject in a black and white plaid shirt, taking pictures of their house and vehicles parked outside. The complainant further advised the subject left the area walking east on Pine Street. Officer Gracie advised the complainant he would contact the subject about the issue.
Nov. 8, 11:10 a.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a suspicious person call in the 200 block of East Ninth Avenue. Dispatch advised of a male subject going door-to-door selling meat. Officer Gracie conducted a sweep of the area and was unable to locate the subject.
Nov. 7, 11:11 a.m. – Chief Dave McCormick responded to a hazardous condition call in the 100 block of North Adams Street in the alley. Complainant advised of a gas leak. Chief McCormick arrived and observed a mason contractor working on the rear of the building and had hit the gas meter and broke the pipe at the threads. Avista was advised and had a gasman en route. Chief McCormick blocked off the alley in both directions, phoned the businesses in the area of the situation and stood by until Avista arrived. Avista requested the fire department be dispatched. Fire crew stood by as repairs were made.
Nov. 6, 11:56 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a citizen assist call in the 500 block of East First Avenue at the Cottage Inn. Chief McCormick contacted the complainant who advised of a child custody issue between the complainant and the child’s father. Chief McCormick advised the complainant that this is a civil matter and they need to contact an attorney or legal aid agency. Complainant advised they would.
Nov. 6, 11:00 a.m. – Complainant contacted Chief McCormick in the Sheriff’s office regarding a possible theft. Complainant advised of a gun that was stolen out of their pickup while it was parked at a local garage. Chief McCormick referred the complainant to the Washington State Patrol office because the theft occurred three years ago after a collision on I-90.
Nov. 5, 9:02 p.m. – Officer Hunter Klewin responded to a disorderly conduct call in the 100 block of West Galbreath Way at the McDonalds. Officer Klewin contacted the manager and a male subject that were discussing a situation between employees. Both parties advised the situation had been resolved.
Nov. 5, 10:38 a.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a medical call in the 300 block of West Main Avenue. Officer Gracie arrived and assisted the ambulance crew as needed.
Nov. 5, 10:34 a.m. – Officer Gracie contacted a complainant at the Sheriffs office. Complainant advised of a possible fraudulent letter they received asking for personal information from a suspicious company in Livermore, Calif. The complainant advised they did not send any information as they suspected it was a scam. Officer Gracie retained a copy of the letter for follow up.
Nov. 5, 10:24 a.m. – Officer Gracie responded to an agency assistance call in the 300 block of West Main Avenue. Dispatch advised the ambulance crew requested assistance. Officer Gracie assisted the crew as needed and cleared.
Nov. 5, 10:03 a.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a possible burglary on Wellsandt Road at the high school football field concession stand. Complainant advised the lock had been broken off a door to the stand. Complainant further advised that it did not appear that anything had been taken. The value of the lock is approximately $30.
Nov. 4, 1:27 p.m. – Officer Klewin responded to a two-vehicle injury accident on North Division Street and East Alder Avenue. Upon arrival, Officer Klewin determined the driver of vehicle number one had a medical emergency and struck vehicle number two, which was legally parked. The driver of vehicle number one was transported to EARH.
Nov. 2, 1:57 p.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a possible theft in the 600 block of West First Avenue at Harvest Foods. Officer Gracie contacted the complainant who advised that at 6:40 p.m. on Nov. 1, a male subject wearing a blue and white flannel hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap, stole approximately $200. The subject was described as a black male approximately six foot tall and 200 pounds.
Nov. 2, 11:55 a.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a medical call in the 100 block of East Second Avenue. Officer Gracie arrived and assisted the ambulance crew as needed.
