The Christmas season is kicked off this weekend with the annual AAUW Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Ritzville Grade School gymnasium. Over 30 vendors are expected to be in attendance with an endless variety of decorative gift ideas for all members of the family.
The bazaar is fun for all ages, and Santa Claus is making a special appearance to take photos during the entire event.
Blue Bike Café and Catering Company will serve lunch of hot sandwiches, salads, soups and beverages. Also in the cafeteria section, Charles Jingling will have a model train display for visitors to enjoy.
The Emanuel Lutheran women are returning to the bazaar to sell baked goods, fudge and candies. A new addition for the bazaar this year is barbed wire Christmas wreaths, created by Ritzville Rodeo Queen Heidi Hennings.
Country Infusion Teas will provide a wide selection of specialty teas and accessories, and have a raffle for the Victorian Society. The Ritzville Western Art Show is having a booth, filled with artwork from regional and national western artists.
A Zanimay booth, featuring handmade soaps, Scentsy and Demarle at Home, will also be at the holiday bazaar. Another popular booth is Tastefully Simple, provided by Keri Gingrich.
AAUW members are also selling Scholastic children’s books and themed baskets during the bazaar. AAUW uses the funds raised from the baskets and the bazaar for women’s scholarships, both locally and nationally.
Everyone is welcome to attend to see all of these vendors and many more.
