Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
Lind, Ritzville and Benge students are the proud owners of new dictionaries, donated by the Ralston Grange No. 943 as part of the “Words for Thirds” program. The October distribution is an annual event for the Ralston Grange members, who donated 16 dictionaries to Lind third grade students, 21 to Ritzville students and two for students in Benge.
This is the eighth year that the Ralston Grange has participated in the Words for Thirds program. The dictionaries are given to the students in October in honor of Noah Webster, who was born on Oct. 16, 1758.
Webster is credited with the Americanization of the English language through his spelling textbooks and dictionaries.
