Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
Sarah Jean Alspach died on Nov. 7 after a short illness, she was 89 years old.
She was born Oct. 28, 1923, to George and Fannie Davis of Indian Head, Saskatchewan, Canada.
In 1952, she married S. Grant Alspach. They lived in Indian Head before they moved to Parma, Idaho in 1956.
The couple moved several times over the years, and in 1974, they bought the Sears catalog store in Ritzville. They retired in 1989, and remained in Ritzville until he passed away in March 2008. She moved back to Davenport to live near her son, Roy.
She enjoyed baking, gardening, and visiting with friends. In December 2010, she moved back to Ritzville to live in the Rose Garden Estates and in October 2011, she moved to the Life Care Center of Ritzville.
She is survived by her son, Roy (Susan) of Davenport; granddaughter, Jamie Alspach of Bellevue; grandson, Brett Alspach of Port Orchard; and sister, Peggy Bremner of Coquitlam, BC.
At her request there will be no service. Memorials may be sent to the Ritzville Fire Department, Ritzville Pet Rescue or a charity of choice.
