Oct. 13, 3:35 p.m. – A complainant camping in the area of North Cow Lake Road in Ritzville advised of subject shooting a rifle in their direction. Sergeant Stacy Flynn contacted the subjects and advised them to be aware of their surroundings.
Oct. 13, 9:59 a.m. – While on patrol Deputy Ned Bernath observed a subject walking near East Lee Road and South Hwy 261 outside of Washtucna. Dep. Bernath contacted the subject to see if they needed assistance. Subject advised they were trying to get to Washtucna. Out of concern for the subjects’ welfare and due to the low visibility, Dep. Bernath transported the subject to Washtucna and cleared without incident.
Oct. 13, 8:32 a.m. – While en route to the previous call, the Benge complainant called back advising of a second subject now trespassing on the property. Deputy Bernath spoke with the complainant and the subject. Subject advised they did not see the “no trespassing” sign and entered the property to retrieve a buck they had shot on state land but it ran onto the property. Subject was cited for trespassing.
Oct. 13, 8:09 a.m. – Benge complainant requested contact in reference to subjects trespassing in the area. Deputy Bernath contacted the complainant on South Benge-Washtucna Road and South Gray Road to discuss the trespassing.
Oct. 12, 6:50 p.m. – Washtucna complainant advised that someone had turned off the emergency switch at Sullivan Petro, which shut off all the pumps. Complainant further advised that according to the records on the machine it occurred sometime around 6:42 p.m. Complainant requested extra patrols in the area.
Oct. 11, 12:30 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of subjects that have an extension cord going from a home to a rental unit on West Main Street. Deputy Aaron Madison contacted the subject and advised them of the complaint. Subject stated they would unplug the cord.
Oct. 11, 10:20 a.m. – Deputy Jeffery Lane contacted and arrested Garrett Scott Sanson for DUI.
Oct. 10, 8:52 p.m. – Deputy Dan Verhey responded to a request by EMS to assist with setting up a landing zone for MedStar in Lind for a medical transport. Sgt. Brian Taylor approved the assist and Dep. Verhey assisted the Lind Fire Department as needed.
Oct. 10, 1:56 p.m. – Washtucna complainant advised of an abandoned vehicle on East Watson Road and SR 26. Deputy Bernath arrived at the location and observed fresh oil on the front bumper and hood area of the vehicle. Dep. Bernath attempted to contact the responsible to have the vehicle removed.
Oct. 9, 9:22 p.m. – Dispatch advised of complaint from the Schrag rest area. Complainant from Redmond stated two men exited a large white panel van and urinated on the picnic tables before returning to the van. Complainant advised they could hear yelling. Deputies Bernath and Ben Buriak responded and contacted the vehicle and it’s occupants. The picnic tables did not show any evidence of being urinated on. The occupants stated there had been a verbal argument but no assault occurred. No one had a valid driver’s license. The deputies advised them to call for a licensed driver to help them.
Oct. 9, 7:42 p.m. – Complainant from Spokane requested a welfare check on a male subject traveling from Connell to Spokane in a green Subaru Outback. Complainant states the subject feels threatened and can’t call for help. Deputies Bernath and Buriak contacted the vehicle and the occupants at the Texaco station in Ritzville. The subject stated they were hitch hiking from Oregon and that they are fine and electing to find another ride to Spokane. All units cleared.
Oct. 9, 7:02 p.m. – Warden complainant called to advise of a collision they had with a deer on East Franz Road in Ritzville on their way home. Deputy Bernath spoke with the complainant and advised them to pick up a civilian collision form.
Oct. 9, 5:02 p.m. – Sprague complainant advised of a possible DUI/domestic at the Tokio onramp near milepost 230. Sgt. Troy Mock responded and found the passenger was an intoxicated mental subject who was traveling with their son. The son was driving the subject to Montana. The son had not been drinking and no assault took place. Sgt. Mock allowed them to continue.
Oct. 8, 6:49 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised they located a male subject at his home in Lind, he was blue in color and lying behind the bathroom door. Deputies Bernath and Buriak responded to West Third Street in Lind and determined the subject was deceased and alerted dispatch to contact the funeral home for removal.
Oct. 8, 6:05 p.m. – Deputy Bernath responded to a welfare check request from EARH on a male subject located on East Fifth Street in Lind. Dep. Bernath attempted to contact the subject and no one was home. Dep. Bernath cleared.
Oct. 7, 4:58 p.m. – Deputy Lane located a stopped vehicle at East Hwy 21 and Hwy 395 northbound. Leonid Snegirev was arrested for minor in possession and providing false information; Kiril N. Reutov was arrested for supplying liquor to a minor; and one juvenile was referred to juvenile hall.
Oct. 7, 4:18 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a suspicious vehicle on North Batum Road. Deputy Buriak checked the area and did not locate any vehicles.
Oct. 7, 3:45 p.m. – Othello complainant advised of a vehicle fire on East Foley Road and South Marcellus Road in Washtucna. Deputy Lane contacted the driver of the vehicle. Driver advised they were attempting to get the vehicle home when it caught fire. The vehicle was removed by the owner.
Oct. 7, 2:34 p.m. – Washtucna complainant advised of a verbal domestic at a location on eastbound I-90 near milepost 226. Deputy Lane responded.
Oct. 7, 12:27 p.m. – Deputy Bernath met Connell unit at Highway 395 and Hwy 26. Dep. Bernath transported a female subject to the Adams County Jail on a felony warrant.
Oct. 6, 1:49 a.m. – While on patrol Deputy Verhey observed a sink hole on the side of the road on East Experiment Station Road in Ritzville. Dep. Verhey sent a message to Public Works about the hole.
Oct. 5, 10:13 p.m. – While on patrol Deputy Verhey located an open door at a location on East Booth Avenue in Washtucna. Dep. Verhey checked the area and nothing appeared out of place. Dep. Verhey secured the door and cleared the location.
Oct. 5, 4:03 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of receiving a phone call from an unknown male subject that claimed to be a family member. Subject told the complainant they were in a traffic accident and needed money. Complainant advised they did not believe the caller and hung up to contact the family member. The subject called back a second time and the complainant confronted the lie and the caller hung up. Deputy Verhey advised the complainant to run a credit report and pass the word around about the scam.
Oct. 5, 1:11 p.m. – While on patrol, Deputy Lane located a 4x8 campaign sign in the roadway at South Lobe Road and East Hwy 26 in Ritzville. Dep. Lane removed the sign from the roadway.
Oct. 4, 11:38 a.m. – Hatton complainant advised of an abandoned vehicle parked in the roadway on Cherry Street. Deputy Craig Frank attempted to contact the responsible but was unsuccessful. The vehicle was towed from the location.
Oct. 4, 9:34 a.m. – Deputy Lane responded to an agency assist at a location of South Palouse River Lane in Washtucna.
Oct. 4, 8:30 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of horses out in the area of East Weber Road. Dispatch called and spoke with the responsible who advised they were putting the horses back in the corral.
Oct. 3, 6:47 p.m. – Lind complainant requested a hulk vehicle form on East Hatton Road. Deputy Bernath responded and provided the complainant with the forms.
Oct. 2, 5:38 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of two vehicles in the area of West First Street that appeared to be racing each other. Complainant provided descriptions of the vehicles to Deputy Buriak. Dep. Buriak checked the area and was unable to locate any vehicles matching the complainant’s description.
Oct. 2, 1:27 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a small black dog in the area of East Main Avenue. Deputy Bernath checked the area and did not locate any dog at large.
Oct. 2, 7:32 a.m. – Lind complainant advised of a suspicious blue car in the area of West Second Street. Complainant further advised of a male subject looking around the building before getting into the car and leaving eastbound out of town. Deputy Bernath responded and the owner checked the building and found no problems.
Oct. 1, 2:50 p.m. – Adams County Superior Court requested agency assistance at the courthouse. Sergeant Flynn stood by until the parties of a protection order left the building.
Oct. 1, 11:10 a.m. – Othello complainant advised of a vehicle partially blocking the road on North Damon Road just south of Lind-Hatton Road. Upon Deputy Bernath’s arrival the vehicle had been removed from the location.
Sept. 30, 5:27 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of an attempted burglary on East Lind-Ralston Road.
