Lucille E. Kubik

Lucille E. Kubik passed peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 11.

She was born November 16, 1923, in Lind to Charles and Pauline (Koch) Rushmeier.

She attended grade school in Prosser and graduated from Lind High School in 1941.

She and George Kubik eloped and married June 4, 1941. They farmed in the Ritzville area until retiring in 1983. They spent the next 25 years as “snowbirds,” traveling to Yuma, Ariz., every winter and exploring the southwest. She enjoyed painting, taking classes over the years and blessing her family with her artwork.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lloyd Rushmeier and son, Leon Kubik.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, George Kubik; son, Tone (Leslie) Kubik; daughter, Linda Kubik, all of Ritzville; brother, Loren (Yvonne) Rushmeier of Oaksdale; sister-in-law, Violet Rushmeier of Orting, Wash .; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

At her request there will be no services. Danekas Funeral Home and Crematory of Ritzville is entrusted with arrangements.
