Good Hope Lutheran to host Oktoberfest

The Good Hope Lutheran Church is set to host the annual Oktoberfest celebration on Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Lind Senior Center and all are welcome to attend.

The morning begins with worship at 9 a.m. under the leadership of Pastor Mary Daniels.

The bake sale opens at 11 a.m. and it is advised to arrive early for the best choices.

The meal is served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and take-out orders are available for those who are unable to stay. Featured on the menu is German smoked sausage, mashed potatoes with butter, sauerkraut, green beans, applesauce, bread and complimented with a dessert.

During the meal, a raffle drawing is to be held featuring a handmade afghan by Rose Koepp that was donated by her daughter, Lorraine Wallace; a metal art piece donated by Tim Smith; and 10 pounds of German sausage.

Meal prices are $9 per each adult and $5 for children 12 years old and younger. All proceeds go to locally supported programs and helping community members in need. Matching funds are applied from Thriven Financial for Lutherans, the church’s fraternal organization.

The Oktoberfest celebration takes place at the Lind Senior Center, located at 117 North I Street in downtown Lind.
