Brian Eugene Selcho

Brian Eugene Selcho died at his home in Sahaurita, Ariz. on Thursday, Sept. 13, after complications from pneumonia and cancer.

He was born in Ritzville on March 9, 1944, to Eugene and Irene Selcho. He was their first child. He was baptized and confirmed at the Emanuel Lutheran Church and graduated from Ritzville High School. While growing up he enjoyed hunting and working on cars.

His highlight in the summer was working on his aunt and uncles farms.

After high school, he served his country in the Navy with two tours in Vietnam. Along with Vietnam, he was land based in the Philippines, Japan, Whidbey Island and San Diego. He retired from the Navy after 20 years and then entered the civil service and retired from there after 20 years. After his retirement he went on to Southwestern College to graduate in Air Conditioning and Appliance Technology.

He married Bonnie in 1980, and together they had four children.

He is survived by his mother, Irene Selcho; his wife, Bonnie; children, Russ (Nina), Brandon (Jennifer), Ashley (Larry), and Melissa; two siblings, Stacey Plummer and Jeff Selcho; nine grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
