Aug. 30, 1:21 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a suitcase in a ditch on North Hills Road. Deputy Bernath arrived on scene and the suitcase had already been removed.

Aug. 30, 12:51 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a cow loose at a location on East Schoessler Road. Deputy Bernath arrived on scene and assisted responsible with returning the cow to the pen.

Aug. 30, 10:20 a.m. – Dispatch advised of a Lind complainant requesting contact about a possible juvenile problem at the middle school. Deputy Bernath contacted the responsible and forwarded the information to Adams County Juvenile Department.

Aug. 29, 8:22 p.m. – Ritzville complainant requests contact in reference to a possible trespassing rights for a water issues on North Deal Road. Deputy Ben Buriak contacted the complainant and advised the issue was a civil matter.

Aug. 29, 11:27 a.m. – Lind complainant advised of a suspicious red vehicle on West Lind-Warden Road and North Deal Road that they believe are scrappers. Deputy Bernath arrived in the area and was flagged down by a subject with a red pickup who advised their pickup was stuck. Subject was detained for investigation. Subject advised they were pulling metal out of the dump at the location. Dep. Bernath advised the subject they will likely be cited through the mail with trespassing and theft upon determining whom the owner of the property is. Dep. Bernath released the subject who now had assistance to remove their vehicle.

Aug. 28, 11:54 a.m. – Complainant from Seattle requested contact in reference to their vehicle being struck by gravel from a passing gravel truck on West Lind-Warden Road and North Deal Road. Deputy Bernath spoke with the subject who advised a truck passed by heading the other direction and spilled gravel, at a curve, which hit the complainant’s car window. Dep. Bernath arrived on scene and observed scratches on the complainants’ car, which appeared new. Complainant advised they just wanted the sheriff’s office to be aware of the situation.

Aug. 28, 9:32 a.m. – Washtucna complainant requested a hulk vehicle form on North D Street.

Aug. 27, 5:15 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised neighbors dogs continue to harass and fight with their dogs. Deputy Aaron Madison attempted to contact the neighbor by phone and advised them of the complaint and requested a call back.

Aug. 27, 5:04 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of unknown subjects having parked their camper trailer on their property on West Main Street. The complainant advised they contacted the subjects and asked them to remove their trailer and they have not moved. Deputy Bernath attempted to contact the subjects and found no one to be home. On Aug. 29, Dep. Bernath contacted the listed owner and advised them of the complaint. The subject advised they would move the trailer.

Aug. 27, 3:10 p.m. – Warden complainant called and advised Deputy Roy Montalvo of a hulk vehicle form request on Fourth Avenue in Hatton.

Aug. 27, 1:53 p.m. – Lind complainant requested contact regarding an unwanted subject at their residence on North Damon Road. Deputy Bernath contacted the subject and advised them to not return to the residence or they could be subject to arrest.

Aug. 27, 11:31 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a suspicious male in the area of East Timm Lane, asking for gas. Sergeant Stacy Flynn contacted the subject on Paha-Packard Road. Subject advised there were waiting for assistance from the Tri Cities.

Aug. 26, 7:36 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of a male subject laying on the road next to a motorcycle that is parked upright, unknown why subject is on the ground. Deputy Buriak responded to the location and prior to arrival was advised by radio the motorcycle and subject were picked up by a truck and trailer.

Aug. 26, 3:15 p.m. – Lind complainant contacted the Sheriff’s office regarding an ongoing situation at the home. Deputy Verhey provided the complainant with the courts information and advised them to call for a no contact order. The complainant advised the situation is not physical but is verbal.

Aug. 25, 2:09 p.m. – Deputy Verhey was dispatched to the Adams County Jail regarding evidence found during a cell search. Dep. Verhey was advised of eight Bupropion pills found in the cell. Dep. Verhey interviewed the two inmates that were in the cell and one admitted ownership of the items. Dep. Verhey took possession of the items and filed the report.

Aug. 25, 9:09 a.m. – Lind complainant advised they had been contacted by their landlord and been asked to remove their belongings and clean the property. The complainant requested a civil standby at the location on West Third Street to make sure they are not violating their court order. Deputy Verhey made contact with complainant and arrangements were made.

Aug. 24, 1:54 p.m. – Advised of a silent alarm at a location on North Dewald Road in Ritzville. Deputy Madison arrived on scene and contacted a subject who had permission to be there but forgot about the alarm.

Aug. 23, 6:25 p.m. – Advised of an audible alarm at a location on West Second Street in Lind. While enroute to the location, Deputy Buriak was advised by radio the responsible had called and advised the back door wasn’t shut all the way and that set off the alarm. Responsible advised they reset the alarm and secured the door.

Aug. 23, 2:44 p.m. – Benge complainant called concerned about the welfare of a subject on East Calloway Road. Complainant stated the subject was disabled and may not have the means to evacuate the area if needed to avoid the Benge fire. Deputy Bernath responded and found the fire was under control. The subject was contacted and was doing fine.

Aug. 23, 1:01 p.m. – Kootenai County Sherriff’s officer requested assistance in locating a Alzheimer’s patient possibly driving in the area of East Heinemann Road and North Anderson Road in Ritzville. Undersheriff John Hunt and Deputy Bernath checked the area and were unable to locate the subject. It was later learned that the subject traveled to the Ellensburg area.

Aug. 23, 10:12 a.m. – Advised of an unsecured door at a location on East Gun Club Road in Ritzville. Deputy Bernath checked the area and the unsecured portion of the building. No signs of forced entry or issue inside. Dep. Bernath contacted responsible and cleared.

Aug. 22, 4:05 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of a possible domestic on East Fifth Street. Deputy Verhey made contact and found it to be verbal only, subject were advised to separate but declined. Dep. Verhey had no lawful ability to separate them and cleared. The complainant was advised to seek a court order to assist their situation.

Aug. 22, 11:03 a.m. – Washtucna complainant requested contact regarding some blasting caps they found in a reloading drawer on North D Street. Sergeant Flynn contacted the complainant who advised they were moving the blasting caps to the irrigation ditch by the grain bins. Complainant directed Sgt. Flynn to the location and pointed out a box of 100 No. 6 blasting caps. Spokane Police explosive device unit was contacted. SPD EDU arrived and removed the device to the summer fallow south of the residence on SR 261. The caps were detonated the SPD cleared the scene.

Aug. 22, 2:33 a.m. – Dispatch advised of a silent alarm activated on East Danekas Road. Deputy Madison arrived at the location and found all doors and windows secure. Nothing appeared out of the ordinary and the homeowner was advised of the situation.

Aug. 21, 5:45 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of a bicycle theft on North S Street. Deputy Madison contacted the complainant who advised a child’s orange BMX style mongoose bicycle is missing.

Aug. 21, 12:10 p.m. – Complainant from Moses Lake requested contact in reference to being locked out of their residence on East Fifth Street in Lind by their landlord. Deputy Bernath and Sergeant Flynn contacted the complainant at the residence who advised the problem had been resolved. Both officers cleared.

Aug. 21, 10:52 a.m. – Lind complainant requested contact regarding a suspicious phone call. Deputy Bernath contacted the complainant who advised they received a call advising the caller was from their bank and there was a problem with the complainant’s account. The complainant was told to get a check so the caller could take care of the situation. Complainant recognized this as a fraudulent call and asked the caller what bank they were from and the caller hung up. Complainant wanted to notify law enforcement of the call. Complainant contacted their bank to make them aware of the situation.

Aug. 21, 7:31 a.m. – Lind complainant advised of a vehicle parked at a location on East Harder Road and North Hwy 21 that was partially on the road. Deputy Bernath responded and found a vehicle that had the drivers side front wheel blocked up. The vehicle was parked facing east off the westbound side of the road with passenger tires on the gravel portion of the road. Attempts were made to locate the listed responsible.

Dep. Bernath returned to the scene at 9:15 a.m. on Aug. 22 and requested the vehicle be towed to clear the traffic hazard.
