The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Lady Broncos volleyball team had a busy week as they competed in various non-league games to help prepare the team for regular season.
The Lady Broncos took on Columbia Burbank on Sept. 6 and netted a hard fought win. In the first match, the Lady Broncos won with a close score of 25-23. The second match went to the Columbia Burbank team with a score of 16-25.
The third match went in favor of the Lady Broncos, who earned a 25-17 win. But the Columbia Burbank team fought back and won the fourth match with a score of 26-28. In the final match of the day, the Lady Broncos easily took the lead and won the game 15-7, walking away with a non-league win.
On Sept. 11, the Lady Broncos traveled to Tekoa to play against the Tekoa-Oakesdale team. The Lady Broncos struggled to compete with the Lady Nighthawk team, losing the first match 18-25, the second match 11-25 and the third match 18-25.
Lady Broncos’ player Amanda Yockey earned six kills in the game and two blocks.
