Esther Greenwalt

Esther Greenwalt passed away in Moses Lake on Thursday, Aug. 23, at the age of 93.

She was born to Michael and Amelia (Bohnet) Winter on Jan. 6, 1919, in Irby, Wash.

In 1941, she married John Greenwalt Jr. and together they raised three boys, Dennis, Michael and Richard. She spent her life raising her family and caring for their home.

She was a lifelong active member of Zion Emanuel Lutheran Church in Odessa, and served as Sunday school teacher, in the quilting guild, altar society and various other capacities in the church. She loved to work in her yard tending to flowers and her vegetable garden.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John in 1991; a brother, Albert Winter; three sisters, Viola Fode, Pauline Leisle and Dorothy Schafer.

She is survived by sons, Dennis Greenwalt of Ritzville; Michael Greenwalt and Richard Greenwalt of Oregon; brothers, Art Winter and Walt Winter, both of Odessa.

Vault interment and memorial services were on Monday, Aug. 27, in Odessa. Danekas Funeral Home of Ritzville is entrusted with arrangements. Memorials are suggested to Zion Emanuel Lutheran Church in Odessa.
