Senior center breakfast fundraiser this weekend

The fundraiser breakfast and silent auction to help raise funds to replace the damaged air conditioning unit in the H.E. Gritman Senior Center is Saturday, Sept. 1. The event is being hosted by staff members from Rose Garden Estates and takes place before the Ritzville Community Parade at 7:30-10:30 a.m.

Breakfast includes a choice of biscuits and gravy or a breakfast burrito, served with coffee or juice for $5, and maple bars with coffee or juice costs $2.

Between the funds raised from the breakfast and the silent auction, the committee involved with the fundraiser hope to be able to replace the 42-year-old air conditioning unit that stopped working last spring with a fully functional, updated unit.

The silent auction provides community members with a wide variety of items to bid on during the three-hour event. The group is continuing to gather silent auction items until Friday and have already received a significant amount of donations.

Silent auction items at the event include five pounds of German sausage, Made in Washington gift basket, two spa pedicure gift certificates, $75 to Andy’s Produce, Amoré skin care and nail gift certificate, AT&T two handset answering machine, John Deere truck and tractor toy, Taco Del Mar gift certificate, Brew Happy gift certificate, wine basket, Cow Creek Mercantile gift certificate, Big Bend Bowl party of 10 gift certificate, ratchet set, folding hammock chair, lube and oil change gift certificate, one hour horse riding lesson gift certificate, decorative mirror with picture frames and more.
