Grid teams turn out for jamboree

Five football teams, including the LRS Broncos, will take part in this Friday’s jamboree in Ritzville, giving coaches and fans their first look at the gridiron teams in game speed situations.

The Broncos will welcome league rivals Colfax and Mary Walker and nonleague opponents Newport and Kittitas to the contests, which start at 6 p.m.

The field is split into two playing areas and action will occur on both sides of the field at the same time. Varsity squads will square off against each other and junior varsity units will meet up as well.

The schedule for the varsity outings includes:

East end of the field, Kittitas offense versus Colfax defense; Newport offense vs LRS defense; Mary Walker offense vs Kittitas defense; Colfax offense vs Newport defense and LRS offense vs Kittitas defense. The first two teams start at 6 p.m. and the change over occurs about every 10 to 15 minutes.

West end of the field, Newport offense versus Colfax defense (starting at about 6:55 p.m.); Kittitas offense vs Mary Walker defense; LRS offense vs Newport defense; Colfax offense vs Mary Walker defense and Mary Walker offense vs LRS defense.

Admission is $3 for everyone. League and season passes are not accepted. Students with ASB get in free.
