New officers led their third meeting of the Ritzville 4-H Livestock club Aug. 13. Leading the Pledges were Easton Nelson and Trinity Wyma.
The club is looking for used lariats as fair decoration to do the theme of “lasso some fun at the fair.”
The members of the club decided on gifts to reward buyers who purchase this club’s market animals at the sale Saturday of fair. The sheep-shearing day was on Aug. 19.
Demonstrations were presented by Eliza Galbreath about how to make “Meat loaf;” Bryce Pichette, “My 250 pound market hog has … ” and Easton Nelson on “Show ring tips.”
Other demonstrations were Brynne Nelson with, “The tack box of today;” Grace Greenwalt’s “Pork byproducts;” Drew Kelly, “Cuts of pork” and Trinity Wyma about “Products and effects of Lanolin.”
The next event, the fair on Labor Day weekend, is the culmination of club members’ year of work on projects. The public is encouraged to come see these animals exhibited.
Jesse Anderson and Kierstin Witt, as well as other club members, are giving demonstrations for the public at the fair on the small stage Saturday afternoon.
